A lying lothario has been arrested after telling an Australian woman he was a United States soldier and conning her out of $300,000.
The 32-year-old Nigerian is actually from Durack, an outer suburb of Brisbane, and he was arrested in a dramatic scene while trying to extract more money out of his victim, a 34-year-old Brisbane woman.
She befriended the man through social media in October and over the next few months they developed an online romantic relationship.
He told her he had been deployed to Syria and shared with her wild stories of war, while living down the road in Brisbane.
