Such a Bloody Campaign

Horrific Campaign. Such a huge loss of life. Such well dug in soldiers and strategically implaced batteries were almost impossible to defeat without sending waves and waves of men to swarm and attack. It was hard to shoot back at something that you could not see. The thousands of machine gun nests and well placed artillary holes caused havok on the US marines and this itself with the fact that the devotion of these jap soldiers was unswayable, Hiroshima and nagasaki were inevitably necessary.
