That’s funny, I seem to remember that from November 1979 to January 20, 1981, 52 US Diplomats were held for 444 days by a small Iranian revolutionary terrorist organization after storming and easily taking over the American Embassy. After negotiations failed the United States military attempted a rescue operation, Operation Eagle Claw, which in April 1980, resulted in an aborted mission and the deaths of eight American military men when the chopper crashed due to malfunction. The worst to top it off involving policy priotity over human lives was that coincidently minutes after Ronald Reagan was sworn in, the hostages were released. Aparently Jimmy Carter could not play ball with the Ayatollah like Reagan did. Just thought a little history lesson was in order before more deformation of the British empire spurts from your brain and makes it way to the keyboard from your fingers. Why can’t you just leave your foreign hatred to the true enemies. It’s not like ya’s have never surrendered before. Is Douglas MacArthur a faint memory to the American people? Yeah, he was partly forced to surrender by the policy priority for the European campaign but he still left to go to Australia, leaving heaps of marines there, mainly Australians to be taken as POW’s, which were then marched, worked, tortured and mutilated by the Japanese in Baataan. (Still Honour to him because he came back and kicked ass) but most of the POW’s were lost by then. I only use this example because you talk in your comment like Americans have never surrendered before.
