Rather than shocking audiences with violence or boring them with statistics, New Zealand’s transport authority has gone for awkward humour in its latest anti-texting TV advert.

The advert shows a number of different drivers receiving a test while they are driving with passengers in their vehicle.

As they reach for the phone, the driver’s hands are intercepted by the passenger's, while “Hello by Lionel Richie plays in the background.

The campaign, also called “Hello”, has the slogan “Put your passengers first. Drive Phone Free.”
