Woman loses control of car and ploughs into restaurant narrowly missing shoppers after mistaking brake pedal for accelerator

A woman lost control of her car narrowly missing shoppers after mistaking her accelerator for the brake pedal.



Car park CCTV cameras recorded the moment the dozy driver ploughed into the restaurant's metal shutters, forcing passersby to leap clear.



In the footage, the motorist is stationary at the exit barrier of a car park in Iquique in northern Chile when she puts her silver people carrier into gear.



As an elderly woman is walking on the pedestrian crossing in front of the barrier, the driver slams her foot on the wrong pedal and accelerates through the exit.
