Jonathan Eugene Meynell, 28, booted his black and tan Rottweiler dog called Coco while shouting and swearing at the hound as it walked along the street with him.
Burnley Magistrates' Court heard Meynell was caught on camera telling the dog: 'Do you want a kicking today or what?'
He received a suspended sentence and was disqualified from keeping any animals for life after causing Coco physical and mental distress.
