Chilling footage captures a murderer visit a police station to see if his "best friend" was okay - just hours after stabbing him to death in a senseless attack.
Daniel Smith, 20, was today jailed for life with a minimum term of 16 years after butchering his mate Jonathan Carr, 21, in the heart.
Jurors at Newcastle Crown Court took just two hours to convict Smith of murder after he had claimed he was acting in self-defence.
The new clip, released today after sentencing, shows Smith stagger towards a police station in Newcastle where cops say he told them he thought he had stabbed Mr Carr.
He then asked if his mate was okay, Northumbria Police said.
But officers then went to Mr Carr's flat and found his body.
